I saw it this afternoon in the front row. Pretty much all the way through, every 15 seconds or so was the sound of a foghorn. Is that part of the production or from outside? It sounded like there was a protest going on. It was very distracting!

I was there this afternoon too, albeit in the Royal Circle. There were definitely background noises - and I took wondered how many were part of the production and how many were from the outside (namely sirens and tube rumblings)

No noises from outside, other than the odd siren down Haymarket, in tonight's performance... though quite a few people leaving half way through the first act in the upper circle and gallery, which given the creaky floorboards, chairs and doors in TRH did make for a distracting watch.
Lots of people round me in the interval didn't know quite what to expect from a Beckett play and were very bored - maybe they were expecting more Peruvian bears - but I enjoyed the near unrelenting bleakness.

Very much enjoyed this! It's a good balance for me when the irony laughs get about the same response as the laugh laughs. Lovely looking production. Not the hugest Wishall fan but I connected with his Vladimir; I thought he got it right No noises apart from the person nearby who though she was at home on the sofa with a bag of Kettle chips.
Def spent a worse £20 in the WE.

Been umming and ahring about whether to book this or not. How are the upper circle "perspex safety screen" seats? The price is right but I'm wondering if being far up *and* behind a screen is too far removed from the really small-scale action.

I don't know if this is helpful to anyone, but I had a 16-30 discounted price ticket, and it was sent to me as an e-ticket and no one asked to see my age when I went into the auditorium - do with that information what you will.
I thought this was a good production of a very tedious show, but all 4 actors are great in it (particularly Ben Whishaw and Tom Eden)

Really struggled with this. I knew of the play beforehand and wasn’t immediately drawn in but really wanted to see Ben Whishaw on stage. Unfortunately, I was left unimpressed primarily with the lack of chemistry across all four actors. Nothing really seemed to gel at all and in the end I didn’t care for any of them and struggled to keep my eyes open. The man next door but one was even snoring but thankfully stopped after an aggressive nudge from his partner.
2 stars.

Also booked this because I wanted to see Ben Whishaw on stage, but unfortunately was just very bored throughout. Thought the 2nd act was better, but maybe that was because we had lower expectations after sitting through the 1st half?

Generally redundant and dated
And exploring the same themes again and again
Permitted to survive due to a conspiracy from directors and actors in the main NOT because audiences are desperate to see the works
A sh*t play will still be a sh*t play

Well, saw this last Friday and I enjoyed it very much. Whishaw was truly excellent. Will be seeing it again before it ends its run.
Ian McKellen was seating in the box. He looked very well, seems to have recovered from his accident.

For example tomorrow seats in stalls rows D/E/J/L and Tuesday stalls row R and D/G of Royal Circle. Seems like around 3 days before a performance they recategorise some seats (I guess as an alternative to rush tickets).

I didn't enjoy this all that much. I've seen this play once before, an Irish production which had a short run at the Arts Theatre in 2017. I thought that was brilliant, but for whatever reason this production really dragged for me. Everything seemed to happen so, so slowly. It felt such a slog.
I can't fault the acting, but I'd say Jonathan Slinger and Tom Eddon came across better than the two stars.
