Has anyone seen Visit from an Unknown Woman? I'm wondering why the front 3 rows stage left are being sold as restricted view?

Has anyone seen Visit from an Unknown Woman? I'm wondering why the front 3 rows stage left are being sold as restricted view? Due to the set and way it is angled extremely to the right that I assume much of the action is obstructed from those sitting stage left It is quite marked and only by luck I was bang on stage right TBH it’s a bit unnecessary The set could have been more balanced to allow views for everyone

At the performance I saw there was no one sitting in the stage left front rows. The view there would be extremely limited due to the angle of the set and a desk placed towards the front of the playing area.
I was further back in the 'high numbers' and whilst there was no restriction I felt distant and quite alienated from the acting because of the angle of the set.
I quite enjoyed the play - but suspect I would have liked it much more if I'd been sitting at the other side of the auditorium (my usually spot but my favourite seat had gone - so I went for its equivalent in the high numbers!)
There didn't really seem to be a need for the angle of the set - certainly any aesthetic pros were outweighed by the impact on a swathe of audience members.

Thanks for all the replies. It sounds like a strange set design. I thought those tickets sounded like a bargain (for Hampstead) at £25 but will probably go with my usual £35 seat or wait for discounts.

Been an incident (cast indisposition) tonight and I am unsure if the run will continue. Sorry for being annoyingly vague, I would rather not detail and hope all are ok. Not pleasant for anyone there.

Yes, I was there tonight as well. Touch and go I gather whether the remainder of the run can or will happen. A very unsettling evening.

Oh dear. I have a ticket for Thurs. Is the incident going to be in the news? Any further clarification would be greatly appreciated (vague terms are fine).

I am sorry but both those posts are quite annoying
Seemingly intentionally vague and unhelpful to those deciding to book
If the run is cancelled then people who are affected will be informed
At the moment online booking is available for all forthcoming dates

I am sorry but both those posts are quite annoying Seemingly intentionally vague and unhelpful to those deciding to book If the run is cancelled then people who are affected will be informed At the moment online booking is available for all forthcoming dates An actor became unwell early on in the show. It was very unsettling for the actor and the audience in such a way that I agree it feels unlikely they will be well enough to, or indeed want to, carry on with the run. I imagine the most likely outcome will be the same as Alma Mater at the Almeida with an actor withdrawing due to illness and a replacement being found quickly. Obviously with the run at Hampstead so short it’ll be about how quickly that can be turned around and also if they decide to cancel shows or send someone on with a book in the interim. I honestly don’t think anyone is being coy or deliberately annoying, but until there’s a statement I don’t think anyone who was there would feel it’s fair to go into more details or speculate about what exactly was going on. I’m sure the theatre will say something publicly tomorrow.

At the moment online booking is available for all forthcoming dates I don't believe when there was an incident at Player Kings recently, that the very first thing that happened was a rush to update the website...
I'm sorry that you found my post annoying and unhelpful but did you actually read it?
"I would hold on booking." <- helpful
"Sorry for being annoyingly vague, I would rather not detail and hope all are ok. Not pleasant for anyone there. " <- acknowledging the post would be annoying and explaining why.

The theatre website currently lists every performance from Tues-Fri this week as sold out. Perhaps an indication of how long they expect to be off (as it wasn't a sellout run last time I checked). Can't see anything else yet online.

Thanks - I hope the cast member is okay. I was thinking of going tonight but I see it's cancelled, so I'll wait until there's more info and maybe look for offers later in the month.

Looks like performances are back on sale for this week. If you try to book tickets, it takes you through to another website area which still has the performances listed as 'sold out'. At my end at least.

Hampstead are intending to run a press night for this. Boding well for the run and, I hope, for the cast member.
