Got a great stalls ticket for this afternoon so going again. Hope it was as good as the first time you saw it. Was Lesley Joseph playing Mother Superior because I believe Ruth is off until Tuesday.

I really enjoyed her version, you just feel the experience and confidence I saw her twice on tour when she was playing Mother Superior and I thought she was brilliant casting. I don’t know if she still says it but she had an ad-lib moment during her duet with Deloris in Spread The Love Around when she says that the song had gone very low.

“The West End return of the Olivier-nominated Sister Act The Musical, which officially opened March 21 at London's Dominion Theatre, will release a live cast recording later this year.
The cast album will be recorded over three performances at the Dominion, May 27–29, with the current company.”

Interesting as they've already done a studio version of Bev's "Fabulous Baby", which started off all our new cast recording rumours - so I assume they'll re-record that to sound uniform with the rest of the album!

It will be nice to have another recording. I've still got my CD that I queued up for one lunch hour at HMV Oxford Street which was signed by Patina Miller. I think she also sang a song in the store.

Get it done before Burke arrives I guess 😂 I think it’s more get it done before Beverly and Clive leave tbh given that how long they’ve been associated with this production

I’ve honestly been so excited for them to finally announce this and the fact that it’s live makes me even more delighted. Now I just need a release date.

Oh, I’ve only just read about the album. Great news. Was tempted to see this the other day when I was on a fleeting London trip, but I literally only would have been going to see Beverly Knight. (Opted for Long Day’s Journey Into Night instead, which is obviously very similar 😂)

Claudia was on as Delores last night and totally smashed it. Her vocals were awesome. Great connection with the audience too. Does anyone know if Claudia is on today too?

Really pleased about the new recording, although shame about It’s Good To Be A Nun. Also, really hope that Fabulous, Baby monstrosity is forgotten about.

I’m just looking forward to having I Haven’t Got A Prayer finally on a cast recording. Also looking forward to hearing the big nun numbers as well (especially Spread The Love Around because that’s my favourite number and seeing it live the four times I’ve seen Sister Act just gave goosebumps).

Yes. Spread The Love Around is my favourite song too. I wish Cynthia Erivo’s version had been recorded - her vocals across the whole show were truly stunning.

It’s just a feel good number to end the show, especially in the last section. I always love it in when the nuns come out with their sequin habits. I would’ve loved a recording featuring Cynthia and I agree about her vocals, but I would’ve liked a recording with Sandra Marvin as well because I thought she was a brilliant Deloris.

I just hope the orchestrations sound FULL - "Spread The Love Around" sounds SO massive on the original recording and it sends me a little bit feral every time I hear it. I saw the tour about a year ago and thought it sounded okay but I hope they really amp it up for the recording.

I saw the tour about a year ago and thought it sounded okay but I hope they really amp it up for the recording. It’s probably because the tour had a smaller orchestra than the London cast. The four times I seen the show it sounded brilliant (especially the last section which always gives me goosebumps) but I get what you mean. Some of the videos I’ve seen from the current London production at the moment sounds amazing so I’m sure it’ll sound epic.

Also I noticed when Lesley Joseph takes over as Mother Superior when Ruth leaves Lori Haley Fox takes over as Sister Mary Lazarus. Does anyone think Lori will be listed as a first cover Mother Superior when Lesley takes over? I know that she was listed as the first cover during the tour and now she’s basically second cover (since Lesley is basically the first cover) but I think it might be odd if she is first cover since she is playing a principal role.

What do people think will happen at the end of Aug when the run ends at the dominion?
Could they extend the run for another month or move it to another theatre or end its London run?
I really hope they can keep it going in London till at least early 2025.

Devil Wears Prada is moving in, so it won't extend at the Dominion. I suspect that will probably be it as the tour is still going until October.
