My original thinking was that Lori Haley Fox would be done as first cover Mother Superior since she’s taken over as Mary Lazarus as Lesley was the alternate Mother Superior when she was Mary Lazarus but I could be wrong. I’m hoping we’ll hear some news regarding the cast album the next few weeks since the show is ending soon. |

They also won't want to be selling Bev singing it at the theatre when they've got Alex doing a less good job in person - people would be like 'hang on a sec why didn't I get that!' 😂

Probably wouldn’t make sense to do that. I meant but well might hear something about the album after it closes. I am desperate for it but I can wait another few weeks 😂😂. |

Very much not a youth, and very much what's happening! You're hardly going to be playing one of the country's best vocalist singing the score in the foyer pre show and then get the audience to sit down and watch a less good performer they've paid through the nose for! |

They do that all the time though. If you go and see the Wicked tour the merch stall is selling the OBC. Seen the same many times with many shows.

I don’t think they’d miss a trick. If it was ready for sale it would be on sale no matter who’s on stage. Most punters don’t even know who they’re seeing anyway.

I don’t mind waiting another few weeks but I would’ve liked it if they did released when the show is still running, though I still think it would’ve made sense to release it before Bev left as it is basically the original 2024 cast recording. |

Another note on the album, I don't imagine their goal was ever to get it out as an extra marketing tool for this production - probably more as a handy tool for amateur/regional/international productions that currently will have been relying on bootlegs and competent MD's to teach the missing tracks like "It's Good to be a Nun" and "Haven't Got a Prayer" (pretty shocking they never did this for Broadway, but I guess with Patina involved then there wasn't much point!)

I think some people specifically wanted an album of this particular production (could be completely wrong though) but I do think it was time for them to release an official English recording with the new score. There is a clear recording of Denise Black singing I Haven’t Got A Prayer on Soundcloud but it isn’t really an official recording of it (which I thought was a same as I thought Denise Black was a lovely singer when looking at videos on YouTube). Haven’t Got A Prayer was one of the songs I wished had an official recording of it as I do think it’s a lovely song and I definitely prefer it to the reprise of Here Within These Walls. |

Claudia, 1st cover Deloris, has her final show playing the lead next Tuesday 20th matinee, just FYI if you’re wanting to see her. (I saw her debut, she was great)
Don’t want to jinx it but seems as though Alexandra is going to get through the entire run without a single show off, except this booked day - yay!

Take note those trained MT performers who struggle to put a full week in. Yeah I always wonder how the nuns manage to make it through 8 shows a week with those habits on. I used to think that the sequin habits at the end would be the worst costumes to wear but few of the nuns said on Instagram said that they’re actually really light and not as warm compared to the black habits. I always thought the wimple would be the worst part of the costume to wear. |

Have they by any chance changed the key for Here Within These Walls? I’m asking because it was a different key the first two times I saw the show with Lesley Joseph on tour but noticed it was the same key as the original recording of the song when I saw Ruth Jones and Sue Cleaver.

Yes they have - they change it based on what's comfortable for the performer. Lesley has a much deeper voice, so they lowered the key for her. Likewise, they lowered the key for Fabulous Baby for Alexandra as well.

I think it did make sense to lower the key for Lesley as well. I actually preferred her rendition of Here Within These Walls and I Haven’t Got A Prayer than Ruth and Sue Cleaver’s. I know she’s not the most amazing singer but she still has a nice singing voice. I don’t really class Mother Superior as a great singer anyway so I think it works okay.
