They have released new tickets for all UK dates too. Which appear to be in the front sections (at least for the venues I checked).

The only venue I could realistically get to is Sheffield for the Saturday matinee but just checked the website and it says no availability. Shame as its a great cast.

No Eponine cast yet. Anyone have any ideas? Maybe Amena el-Kindy will go straight from the West End to the tour and they don't want to announce it yet? The only other thing I can imagine is that there's going to be some stunt-casting going on...

Although CHF is on tour, certainly when I go in Glasgow, so don't think it's going to be her.

Really random. Is anyone going to Glasgow Sat 5th October evening show that has a ticket in section 5, row B, seats 85 or 91? Long shot I know but was looking for an extra ticket x

I don't think the all star tour was where they'd be bringing in new faces lol

Interesting that Daniel Koek and Jeremy Secomb are in the ensemble/presumably covering Valjean and Javert as ex-West End principals? As with your JOJ (albeit off-stage standby) and Earl Carpenter in the previous staged concert version. Would rather see them than Ball and Boe, to be quite honest! Also Adam Robert Lewis and Shaun Dalton have been excellent covers in London previously.

Nice to see some Les Mis royalty there.
Am more interested in the (still pending) London cast announcement though!

Isn’t it the first performance of this tonight? Do we know any more about what to expect with the design etc?

The stage does look low, and also a lot smaller than I expected from an arena tour. But it probably is just the perspective.

Just arrived at the arena. Programmes haven’t been sent from the printers yet, so that’s a good start.

Lack of programmes aside. It was good.
“Arena spectacular” not so much. It was basically just the staged concert with a couple of balcony’s attached to the sides of the set (used for Ball and Boe’s entrance during the overture and for 2 extra flags to be waved during “One Day More”) and a walkway that came down from the lighting rigs once (during the Paris “Look Down”). And a couple of screens to highlight which of the leads was singing.
The cast were all great. Alfie Boe does have a phenomenal voice, it was my first time catching his Valjean. Michael Ball as Javert is makes a camp Javert with anger issues. Channah Hewitt as Fantine didn’t hit the mark with me, she has a good voice but just not for Fantine. Beatrice Penny-Toure is a good Cosette but it is a pretty thankless role in my eyes and Emily Bautista got one of the biggest reactions of the night with her “On My Own”
Jac Yarrow is probably one of the best Marius’ I have seen and James D Gish as Enjolras was definitely the stand out for me. His voice was so crisp and clean.
Gavin Lee and Bonnie Langford are a great double act. And can confirm that the fabulous Ms Langford does indeed do the splits.
One thing I did notice during the interval while I was checking the cast on my phone (I really am bitter about the brochure not arriving in time) was that Daniel Kirk wasn’t on as Bambatois, with Owain Williams seemingly taking over that track.
I really did enjoy the evening out, but I was expecting a bit more spectacle rather than just the same staged concert that can be seen a few times a month on Sky Arts.

I really did enjoy the evening out, but I was expecting a bit more spectacle rather than just the same staged concert that can be seen a few times a month on Sky Arts. This was my fear and a reason I’ve not shelled out for tickets. You’d think that they’d be better off spending money on making it a ‘spectacle’ than having a cast of 100 which isn’t necessary. They could have done something really amazing and put it in the round or something in the arena with huge set pieces. It really does just sound like a glorified concert and, to be honest, given the normal audio issues in an arena for this type of music I will gladly save my money and just watch the previous filmed versions at home instead. What a shame.
