I really enjoyed the music (though would have liked a lot of the songs to be longer) and look forward to the OLC! Fantastic show - the ronseal of jukebox musicals. Every time I saw it, most people were having a fantastic time. At least those who hated it first time round know to steer well clear this time. It always had your ronseal of approval, ceebee - happy for you. I can steer clear

That had a lot to do with the fact the show was at the Old Vic, which attracts largely a different audience than your 'standard theatre audience' in the West End. Audiences for this will undoubtedly be appalling (as they are for a lot of these type of shows) - sorry if that makes me elitist or something but it's true... This one’s for the masses… 😀

My Old Vic audience WAS appalling so I dread to think how much worse it will be. Hated this btw.

Good to see people slating the show again before it's even opened... Is something changing on the show? Should anyone who didn't like it last time know something in advance to change their opinion of this one and book again?

I'm hoping that the whingers who felt the need to slate the show first time round stay well away and content themselves with something less crass and more cerebral.

This one’s for the crasses Yeah, it's just not high brow enough for sophisticated people. And yet look what happened to the very high brow Opening Night, hmmmm!

I would say that everybody is entitled to comment on it, first time, second round, umpteenth round. People can say they don’t like it as much as people who relentlessly praise shows and don’t like people having counter opinions. Those people are just as bad as the ‘whingers’ and often come back to comment more imo.

Good tip off. The front row is low priced with a limited view warning (which it certainly is for Mrs Doubtfire) but worth a punt @ £35 for opening performance on Thurs 15 May 2025. I've booked.

I thought that with front row and booked the first night, overall I don’t think it’s badly priced compared to other shows at the moment

Craige Els confirmed (hooray). I hope a lot of the original cast members are also coming back. They had superb energy.

If tge other thread is anything to go by! There are three of that cast that were in the Old Vic version - Jo, Rhys and Collette so yes would agree they will likely be available by May If Joel gets another secondment from Hamilton then I would assume he will be back A lot of the cast could easily be played by others but Craig as Bob is key and so I am glad he is back

When I looked at the production’s Twitter page yesterday (they were teasing the announcement this morning), I noticed the show is also doing a run at the Ed Mirvish theatre in Toronto from end Jan to mid-March, so guessing some of the Old Vic / Shaftesbury cast may also appear there, as a pre-West End warm up.

I don't see why Collette would do this, she was one of my favourites at the OV, but now she's in a much better show and has a much better part.

Good to see people slating the show again before it's even opened... Unless they've changed everything about it from the OV run, it's still gonna be the same show with the same glaring problems. Hopefully it makes the Old Vic lots of money so they can focus on things of a higher quality for years to come...

Well I've blown a stack on at least four visits to this marvellous, exciting, fun jukebox musical. Very much looking forward to this.
