Anyone know anything about this show? I've had an e mail to say they were doing 3 performances in November and all tickets £25 I see they did westend live. Did anyone see it and is it worth a punt?

There are four songs on Spotify and a West End Live performance on YouTube, for anyone who is looking to work out if it’s for them.
I bought a ticket based on the songs out there and the fact it is created by Jack Godfrey, who brought us the incredible 42 Balloons concert last year.
Really looking forward to it and seeing who they cast. £25 for every seat is likely to be a steal IMO.

The WEL performance was not enticing to me. I've seen this plot idea in films and TV but never known any school that actually did the fake baby for a week thing. And, the "students" seem oddly excited by the project - when, in reality, I would think they would think the exercise is stupid and a waste of time and resent the whole project. But, then, that's just my thoughts.

Honestly a fair few students picked childcare just so they could do the fake baby thing. When my sister had her fake baby the teacher caught her delicately placing a cig in its mouth and they failed her 🤣

Another bloody concert. It’s like a virus. You must know that it's not cost effective to put a full production for a three-performance run.

WEL didn't really do the show justice - they used some graduates who were clearly nervous, you can hear it in their voices. Lots to learn.
This show is excellent - I saw it at New Wolsey and it's got all the makings of a cracking little musical.

That sister will go far…or not…

Seems to have sold well so far.
I've been away since "Babies" went on sale so only just tried to book - closest to the front of the stalls for a single central seat was row J.

This might not necessarily be the case though. Nimax seem to hold rows back and release them in batches - I've noticed availability changing all the time for other productions. I had a look, out of interest, when these tickets first went on sale, and all three performances were already showing as 'medium' availability. Marketing ploy presumably?

That sister will go far…or not… Her bringing that baby doll home was hilarious so I’ve got hopes this musical will be a lot of fun! I remember going home on the bus with her and that bloody doll wouldn’t stop screaming, then at home she put it in the back garden because all of us (I’m one of seven kids) were getting annoyed hahah.

Jack Godfrey’s latest musical played the first of three performances at the Lyric tonight. All I can say is we can all be so thankful Aspects closed early as we are being treated to a great variety of new talent in its absence.
Like 42 Balloons last year, I loved this so much. Joining forces with Martha Geelan as director and book writer, this is yet another example of Godfrey creating a truly fantastic piece of homegrown musical theatre.
While his power pop tunes and soaring melodies make Babies such an instant hit, a special mention ought to be reserved for the young, largely unknown, company on stage tonight.
At just over 100 minutes long (with no interval), that’s really not a lot of time to portray a successful characterisation. This cast pulls it off. In particular, Shakira Riddell-Morales (Leah), Morgan Phillips (Toby) and Lauren Conroy (Jasmine).
Special mentions also for Lucy Carter’s Louisa Harland-esque performance as Lulu and Jaina Brock-Patel as Becky (“out with the grey, in with the slay!”).
Although it’s not as polished and ready as 42 Balloons was at the same stage of development, Babies *needs* to be given a chance to grow with a proper run at a London theatre soon. Producers need to stop only investing in cautious remakes of established IP or reviving ageless classics. Give new talent a chance too.
Five stars.

I felt there were too many characters to get invested in any one of them. Loved Morgan Phillips. Some really good songs.

Saw this tonight. I agree about the number of characters, but maybe when the story gets bulked out a bit you'll get to know them more.
I felt like it was a mash up of Sex Education meets Six.

I liked this when I saw the preview, and the catchy 'baby, baby, baby i'm coming for ya' has been in my head ever since.

A shame Morgan Phillips is now Bradley’s alternate, he brought so much to it!

Bradley had to do some singing as part of a task in Big Brother.
Best of luck to him…

It’s nice to the The Other Palace finally putting on a new original show again with lots of new graduates in the cast

Thats 2 musicals they have announced that I would like to see but unfortunately won't be able to as they have the worst leg room and I wouldn't be able to manage 10 minutes ley alone a full show.
