With Shirley having taken against him tonight, I would imagine he is less certain of surviving a second dance off
But let's see what tunes/dances they get next week.

He only scored 34 when he had been up at 38/39 so that made him vulnerable this week. If his score is back to what it was next week he'll be okay but if it isn't then he could be in danger

With Shirley having taken against him tonight, I would imagine he is less certain of surviving a second dance off But let's see what tunes/dances they get next week. I'm hoping that Shirley is just trying to light a fire under their asses to get Layton & Nikita to deliver something extra special next week. It's Musicals Week and Layton still has big crowd pleasers like Paso and Charleston on his dance card. I think there's a good chance he could bounce back, especially with a better leader-board position.

Musicals week should in theory play out well for both Layton and Nigel provided they get the right dance combined with a suitable song and don't stray too far from the requirements of that dance. Ellie hasn't done couples choice yet, so if they're going to do it at all it will be next week rather than the semifinals which might be risky. That leaves Annabel and Bobby looking most vulnerable, but it all depends on who comes up with the goods on the night.

I know this is a spoiler thread, but maybe the post above me should go in spoiler tags? I opened the thread not expecting Christmas spoilers so others might too. I just thought it might be something about the main series.

The public has no say in the Christmas special and what competition there is is pretty flimsy, so why would anyone care?

I had just glanced at the Strictly Spoiler website and saw Xmas results were up. So I decided to pop them in here, they over score everyone on that show and have an unseen audience vote so who wins in my book isn't that important.

It'll be interesting to see what they come up with as show dances for the final, given that Ellie's couple's choice was left until the semis and Layton's been doing show dances all series! (There have been several occasions in recent years where the finalists were less spectacular than expected.)

Whist I’m sad for Annabelle, someone has to go and I think she’s done extremely well, exceeding even her own expectations.
In truth I think Johannes and Strictly came along at just the right time, given what’s she going through emotionally and mentally.

Bobby was outstanding in that quickstep. It would have been a travesty if he’d gone home.

The relationship between Annabel and Johannes has been a joy to watch. Very emotional indeed at the end

Annabel has had such a transformation from the beginning of the show. As Craig quite rightly pointed out last week, she was the only non-actor in the final 5 so she’s had to work extra hard at performing as well as the actual dancing steps. Every time she danced with Johannes it was elegant and classy. I would have liked to have seen them in the final.

Well the whole thing was a bit emosh, was it not? The judges were all gushing.
Lots of tears from the contestants, the pros, the members of te audience.
Thought Cher looked and sounded great!
Loved the final group dance. I'm, please that despite his injury that Nigel could partake. It's a shame that Amanda wasn't there.
I thought the right couple won.

They don't get many votes overall do they. This is supposed to be a TV audience of millions.
And of course Cher sounded good, she was miming! I do wish she'd sing live every now and again.
