Tesori has London Ambitions for Kimberly Akimbo. I think it’s only a matter of time before it happens. Mentions Hampstead/Young Vic as venues she’d like to host it.

Both would be ideal spaces for this lovely, intimate show. Her FUN HOME was (imo)better at the Young Vic than it was on Broadway. Will keep fingers crossed.

I didn't like Caroline, or Change- in fact its the only musical that I've fallen asleep in.
Fun Home just blew me away! I never forgot it.
Looking forward to getting to know this show.

After the Tony win, surely this will happen.
This is a show where I've been meaning to listen to the soundtrack for ages, but I seem to never find the time.

Fun home bored me to tears. I was just telling a friend this morning how long til we could have this in London. My bet was 10 years. Happy I am wrong! Soft Power would be a great option too. Pulitzer nominated but no Broadway and no London production.

I loved Kimberly Akimbo on Broadway, I'm sure it does well in London! It'd be interesting to see who will play the lead or if Victoria transfers for some limited time.

We'd get a limited run a la Fun Home and a British cast I'd assume.

I'd love to see Victoria Clark make her London debut, but I guess Jenna Russell would be the first in line for this. She's a decade younger than Clark but by the time the transfer happens she'll be pushing 60. After Fun Home, Bridges of Madison County and Fun Home, it feels inevitable

My first thought was “oooh Caroline O’Connor will be brilliant”
Please God keep this away from Imelda though lol

I always find I like the music of Tesori shows, but the musicals themselves leave me cold. I felt this way about CAROLINE, OR CHANGE, VIOLET and FUN HOME. I enjoyed her opera, BLUE - probably the best thing of hers I have seen. I have only seen the recording of the original Broadway cast of SHREK (it was ok), but have not seen THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE.
Hope this is true about KIMBERLY AKIMBO though - I love the cast recording, and it looks like this may work dramatically too. I will definitely go and see it if it indeed happens.

We saw the second preview in NY and it's become one of my favourite musicals. A lovely score

I really hope this happens. It's just a small show about living your life, which is something everyone can relate to. I saw the show in December and I am still thinking about it.

Went for my 2nd time on Wednesday, it must come over!!
I would love Victoria Clark to do it here!
My be a unpopular choice on here but I think Sheridan Smith could be great as ‘Aunt Debra’

I had a listen this afternoon to the music. Couple of decent songs but not enough to convince me to go an see it. Whereas listening to Shucked I know I'm going to enjoy it.

The show title amuses me sounds like a great Drag Queen or Porn Star name or even slapstick Carry On type female character. But the synopsis does sound interesting so may well be a show to keep an eye on.

Everytime I see or hear this title, I instantly think of The League of Gentlemens 'Legz Akimbo Theatre Company'
Now that i'd go and see.

I do find the Tony's farcical to be honest. Best Musical? Well fair enough, maybe it is, I've not seen it. Best book? Again, who knows, not seen it.
Best score though? Do me a favour. I mean yes, music is SO subjective how does one judge. Personally, I couldn't make it through the cast recording. Shucked - great score. NYNY - good score. Some Like It Hot - fun big (slightly samey) score. Bad Cinderella - #SorryNotSorry - WAY better score - choon after choon.
Tony's just decide which show they're gonna give everything to and go for it. It's a joke and not objective.
Anyway, just my opinion of course. Show itself feels very Broadway. Can't see it doing well here other than in a Donmar Warehouse or similar type venue. That said it clearly speaks to some people so I wish it well....
