Somehow they have captured the essence of what made this show unmissable in one track. I was instantly taken back to the glorious autumn of 2023 and the magic of this production that emptied my wallet so readily.
Broadway, you are in for such a treat.

Wow. That sounds fabulous. Broadway is going to go absolutely insane for this production
It just makes me want to jump on a flight, pay through the nose and see this again as soon as possible.

Had a listen to the track on my way to work this morning. Fantastic recording bringing back some happy memories watching this stunning show. Can’t wait for the rest of the album.

Was very lucky to see Tom in several Arts Ed shows (as a close friend was in his year) and it's amazing seeing this meteoric rise. This recording sounds INCREDIBLE

The video clip of them doing the title song in NYC looks absolutely bonkers - especially in comparison to the London version. Looks like the entire cast is out there walking around with him this time!

I'm not usually a fan of live recordings of shows - but as a 'souvenir' item, this recording really does take me back to being in that place and time and experiencing it. Wonderful. Can't wait for the rest of the soundtrack to drop.

I am similarly planning on making this OLC more or less my whole personality for the foreseeable! It’s not an OLC, as that was released in 1993, featuring the original London cast. Oh this production's thrown away the rule book and convention, it can be an OLC I say ;-) - it's the original London cast of this iconic production. (They called the 1993 LuPone one WPR/World Premier Recording if we're being pedantic. Sunset breaks the mould!)

Get me on that plane! (Though the NYC prices stress the hell out of me.....)

Still makes me chuckle that the poll has nine "1" ratings.

Wonder how they are gonna control the crowd - the security cost must be 10 fold what it was in London. (Although nothing will beat the thrill at that first preview when no-one had any idea that this was gonna happen. The cat is truly out of the bag since!)

Wonder about that kind of permissions you have to get in comparison in London to New York to do the street walk. When you leave the theatre is it just a free-for-all to do whatever you want?

I've wondered this. Are there union and financial ramifications like every time you breath or raise an eyebrow on Broadway. Probably lol.

One of those true "privileged to be there" moments. And amazing that they managed to keep it under wraps until then in the modern age of endless leaks.....

And it doesn't sounds as "live" as it could have - they have edited some of the audience reactions throughout the song and just kept in the end applause.

Still makes me chuckle that the poll has nine "1" ratings. I'm not! I am an Admin on a Sunset Boulevard fans facebook group (been running for 4 years - by all means join!) and although most people are supportive of the Jamie Lloyd version, there are a number of group members who are seemingly incensed that a production has been allowed to happen that strays so far from the Trevor Nunn original production they seem to worship. (and of course many of these people have not even SEEN the Lloyd production!)

This recording is incredible! Best ALW song of all time? The punchy 5/8 rhythm - especially accented on this recording - is so erratically beautiful.

(and of course many of these people have not even SEEN the Lloyd production!) It's all very tribal for some people isn't it - like if you like one you have to hate the other. I absolutely adored the original Sunset. The Napier sets and the Nunn staging were absolutely at the peak of mega musical. And Nunn's Normas LuPone/Buckley/Paige gave some of the most thrilling performances I have ever seen on a West End stage (as did Kevin Anderson). But nothing about loving the new version takes away from those memories and that amazing experience for me. It still sits unaltered in my "memory of a happy moment" memory bank. Which is indeed what that one day now is. And the Lloyd version is easily the most exhilarating thing I have seen in years. Society pushes us to take sides these days. (Whispers it - I like Kate AND Meghan lol)

Wow, just had a listen on Spotify and it sounds soooo good! Gave me goosebumps and took me straight back to the Savoy. The orchestrations are beautiful and Tom’s voice sounds just as powerful as I remember. Even more excited to hear the full recording now.
Yet again, hearing this just makes me feel so lucky to have been there for both an early preview and again on closing night back in January, a truly iconic theatre performance I’ll never forget seeing.
And is it embarrassing to admit that I was today years old when I realised that the ‘Sunset’ of the title isn’t just the location of Norma’s house but a reference to her being in her ‘sunset’ years? I’m guessing yes so I’ll get my coat! 🤦🏼♂️
