Is this impressive visually if you put the cheese to one side?

Is this impressive visually if you put the cheese to one side? Not particularly. You can just about see the extent of the scenery in that Twitter video. There's very few set pieces, including a "hot-air balloon" which gets overused, a few bits of furniture and wafty curtains and the device in which Kylie makes her appearances. The back wall is a giant video screen which is used to set scenes. It's all very bright and garish.

Comparing SAW to ABBA is like comparing Oasis to the Beatles or Robbie to Freddie.

Oh dear, show stopped for rowdy audience members to be thrown out tonight. couple of videos have surfaced on X, looks like it was alcohol fueled as the individuals involved are waving glasses around.

Not even open for a week and already picking up a reputation on SM for trashy audiences. How very sad.

Wow, it’s found it’s target audience pretty quickly! Oh dear, show stopped for rowdy audience members to be thrown out tonight.

Just had a message from a friend who was there and as I suspected he said it was alcohol fuelled. People were turning up at the theatre already worse for wear and still drinking. He said he'd expected some singing but it was at such a level that he couldn't hear some of the vocals onstage.

Just arrived at the theatre and spotted this. I’m guessing the ear protection is to guard against the out of tune sing along folk?

That sign is up in the Opera House all the time. Covering all bases for every show so don’t dare try complaining.. They should add “pissed up audience members” to the list as they’re becoming a permanent feature.

I'm looking forward to seeing this next week, as love the cast, the songs are cheesy but classics, but not looking forward to the audience...

A few thoughts on today's viewing. After yesterday's incident at the theatre, thankfully we didn't have a repeat this afternoon. A well behaved audience and we managed to get through the 2hr 20 minutes in good spirits. Having a chance to chew over my thoughts on the show on the journey home, ISBSL really was a mixed bag of a show for me. The biggest wins for me from today's viewing were from the cast and the music both of which were great fun (I was certainly up on my feet singing along with the mega-mix at the end). A fantastic cast full of energy singing those SAW songs. Great vocals from all. The 6 piece band is made up of guitars, keys, drums trumpet, flute and sax. No issues with sound mixing from my front row seat. i certainly found the book from Debbie Isitt whilst having some nice comical moments to be wafer thin in content and devoid of much emotional punch or character depth. I didn't have that emotional connection with any of the characters or their story arcs. TBH, I gave up with the book early on and just sat back and enjoyed the music and cast performances. With the set from Tom Rogers, I'd have to agree with richey in his post as being garish. I was disappointed with it and having seen some great sets from "Manchester gets it first" shows - Ghost, BTTF, BOOH and &Juliet, sadly ISBSL doesn't continue this trend. Whilst the big video screen at the back of the stage gets a good workout and the way Kylie makes an appearance is nice, I often found myself looking at a very empty stage despite some bits and pieces every now and then, I was hoping for much more than what I got for my £40. I certainly didn't get that wow factor here. Overall, I'd go and watch this again for the cast and music for a feel good night out at the theatre when it comes to Liverpool next Spring, but I wouldn't be willing to pay similar money for the viewing. Rating - 3 stars.

I thought that’s exactly what that particular journalist wanted after seeing her review of The Bodyguard earlier this year.

Which, for those of us who think Mamma Mia is horrible, isn’t a selling point!

Which, for those of us who think Mamma Mia is horrible, isn’t a selling point! Haha I love Mamma Mia, and SAW, and still think it looks awful. It reminds me of the Annie tour that was so heavily 'inspired' by Matilda, design wise.
