I doubt this will get announced tomorrow but I’ve heard it’s playing at the Theatre Royal in Glasgow over Christmas in 2025

Cardiff Christmas 2024? But yeah maybe not annouce as far ahead as Christmas 2025. Have Glasgow teased anything?

Southampton 18 March - 26 April 2025 Top price £95 which is a new record. Thanks so much for confirming that - yes of course it’s expensive by touring production and Mayflower standards but I’m also relieved that it’s less than the Manchester prices shown further up this thread. I’ll definitely be booking to see it in Southampton but given it’s two years away will no doubt have to make a return trip to the Victoria Palace before then!

I think October is the latest thing I've got planned. Is anyone actually booking things two and a half years in advance? I thought one of the effects of the pandemic was people were a bit reluctant to book dates for things so far off.

I thought one of the effects of the pandemic was people were a bit reluctant to book dates for things so far off. I’m can’t speak for the other venues as have only seen details for Southampton’s Mayflower theatre, but tickets for the dates there in March/April 2025 aren’t onsale until end Sept this year, so it’ll be around 18 months away by then. I recall that’s not unusual for the big musicals when they come to the Mayflower, but yes, only a proportion of people are prepared to book that far ahead. Those who want the best seats if they’re anything like me!

Booking two years ahead of time is risky IMO, I could understand a year but something might happen before that.

I don't get the big deal about booking ahead, and certainly don't see it as risky lol
Generally life is pretty much the same when you work, have family, mortgage etc. It's not exactly difficult to block out one evening in the future. Same way as you'd block out someone's wedding date, or a big birthday or holiday.
And judging by how well these big shows sell that far in advance I don't think that many people are worried.
You could book a show for this Friday and something could still happen. There's always the risk something could come up unexpected no matter when you book. But Generally its pretty easy to plan around one date.
Plus it allows people time to budget and save if they can't afford it now.

Based on his Instagram story it looks like Joel Montague (current King George and Mr Carrie Hope Fletcher) might be playing King George on tour

Its such a strange role isn't it, on stage for about 5 mins. Yes it is, a cushty role really. Joel's post is oddly worded and I don't know how to share images on here but he reshared the Hamilton tour announcement video with this caption... 'Seems as though I'm about to re enter my Hamilton era' Which doesn't make sense as he is still in the cast so if anything should be 'continue'.

Has anyone heard any casting rumours for this yet? It opens in Manchester in a couple of months - I thought some details would have been released by now.

I wonder if Maya Britto is in the company? She is/was the stand by for the sisters but seems to have left as of yesterday? Which seems odd given they had a cast change a few months back.

Its such a strange role isn't it, on stage for about 5 mins. The last time I saw Hamilton (Jan '22!), Joel was part of the ensemble when not on stage as King George. I can't recall because it was so long ago, but I guess it could also be that due to cast illness there were split tracks, I guess. I just remember thinking it was good that they found something for him to do!
