Micky Flanagan now doing 2 weeks in the Lyric in October, so no 'proper' show then to replace Aspects of Love. A shame it had to close, all the more so as they obviously struggled to line something up to replace it.

Nimax will probably make more money from Mickey Flanagan in two weeks than they did with Aspects.

True but a proper show would have been nice. 🤗

Afternoon!
Does anyone have any info on what WE theatres might currently not have anything announced for next March-ish onwards for probably around 8 - 12 weeks? A Group Chat I'm in is picking over low-level rumours about a possible project, and we're trying to tie all our information together.
Straight play (Shakespeare). Decent number of seats, but probably not 'a barn'.
Thanks in advance for any intelligence...

Only Long Day's Journey Into Night at the Wyndham's is locked but that's pretty much it. We'll probably get announcements for the Spring in the Autumn.

Yes very little announced for the spring. Gielgud has a decent number of seats for a playhouse, if it's for a presumably star led revival.

Hello Just wondering if anyone knew what the Christmas shows were for the Almeida or @sohoplace, or any rumours potentially swirling! I've heard The Little Big Things is looking for an open ended run, not sure if this is true

Excellent. Maybe Mean Girls, Devil Wears Prada, Hello Dolly! and some plays for the new year.

Jumping further ahead to later in 2024, I was just wondering what the current intel was on the Oliver! revival at Chichester/Noel Coward next year, is that still on the cards? I think mrbarnaby (or perhaps somebody else) had said that Shucked was going to the NC and that Dr. Strangelove would be at Gielgud later in the year, so how does this Cam Mac clash work out if two shows want the same theatre and there are no signs of any of his long-runners closing?

He does have other theatres such as the Wyndham's for Shucked or Strangelove?

Somebody had said Strangelove was Gielgud-bound, so I wondered if they might have all the tea... This post is designed to celebrate the glories of our scoopers on the board! Haha.

This 'wild' fortnight of theatre news has hardly got off to an exciting start! Presumably several big announcements are coming in the next ten days or so.

Yes, apart from Matt Smith it's been very lacklustre so far! I am beyond excited about mrbarnaby's Jez Butterworth scoop, hope an announcement with the title etc comes soon and is part of this 'wild' news fortnight!

VERY excited about Jez B. Glad he's back at new writing after some slightly lacklustre TV work

Don't why people are complaining about the lack of news when we're only at the start of September. The news will come when it comes!
