I wouldn't even say it's supporting. I think the Tony wording of Featured is alot more appropriate. I'm using both interchangeably.

Hoping for MT replacements, someone like Alice Ripley, Emily Skinner or Carolee Carmello Have you heard Alice Ripley sing, um, in the last maybe ten years? Her voice is absolutely shattered. I doubt they'll go with Ripley or Carmello considering how they've cast it in London. Ripley auditioned for this production in fact, and she was very far along by all accounts. I think her voice, while significantly weakened over the years, is still phenomenal and the passion she puts into every performance is really quite something! She'd be a much better Griz than many would give her credit for. Her recent As If We Never Said Goodbye shows that perfectly I think

Her recent As If We Never Said Goodbye shows that perfectly I think I like Alice Ripley, and I think she can do wonders with a beefy role. But Grizabella's only job description is to sing Memory and stop the show. Despite how much "depth" some very serious actresses give her (Betty Buckley really dug into it), all I want is a just someone who can belt the living crap out of it. I don't mind if they can sing then act than act then sing.

(With my tongue planted firmly in my cheek!! ) It's kind of you to let us all know, and we very may well have some fantastic dancers hidden on this board, I don't quite think it's a "turn-up-try-your-luck-have-some-fun" event - or who knows, maybe the creative team are looking to have their day taken up by the members of TheatreBoard throwing themselves about in tight lyrca! No offence intended to any of our lovely members, I'm sure we have our fill of star-turn Grizabella's and talented pussies!

I more wanted to post that here because of the January 2017 tour start. But good luck to any aspiring board members!

I'm there! I've got my own leg warmers and a flat tyre from my bike that I can use. I'm going to do the rap number as my audition piece I think. And throw in a bit of Rihanna for some sass.

Considering $1m grosses weren't a thing when it was running on Broadway before, it's not that surprising!

Do we know where the tour is heading to? Antwerp, Belgium from March 29, 2017 to April 17, 2017.

That's lame. They should have called it the UK tour and Belgian stop. That's it? One European city and it's "international"?

Just back from the Broadway production, will try and post my full thoughts sometime around next week. Absolutely loved it! Great cast, great choreography, great lighting and great set! Leona Lewis had a really amazing voice, definitely beating Nicole Scherzinger's voice, but didn't have the cat like movements that the other cast members had (Nicole definitely won in that department). So glad they got rid of the awful rapping Rum Tum Tugger, glad to see the old version restored.

Just felt it was a more modern version of the show.

I saw the UK tour last night, sadly the Rum Tum Tugger rap is still in there. My question is have they stopped the going up at the interval for an autograph? I remember doing it in Eastbourne many years ago and am sure I saw it in London (and possibly Paris). The safety curtain was down the whole interval though :-(

I was in the upper circle in London so didn't make it down and definitely wasn't brave enough in Paris (I can't say for certain they did it there). A shame if it has stopped as it was my cousin's first time seeing Cats and I told her about it.

I went up on stage at the Palladium last November. In fact, I was initially the only person, and they were pleased someone did, as it advertised the fact that you could, so a few more eventually spotted it and got in line. Had a lovely chat with "Old Deut" about that night's swings and covers, and have Deut's signings on my programme to prove it LOL. Saw the show recently (on this tour) in Ipswich and the autographs at the interval were still going on.

Perhaps they only do it at select shows throughout the week? I saw Cats when it was in Edinburgh in July and they did the interval signing with Old Deuteronomy then.
