Isn't Nicole in it? I just checked the website and was pleasantly surprised that they have a Monday show (opting to go dark on a Thursday, which is odd). No complaint, because I thought I'd spend my Monday show-less on my NYC trip.

You don't have to necessarily sit through Cats just to not waste a musical slot in NY, both Avenue Q (still running Off-Broadway at the New World Stages) and Phantom do Monday Evening shows, too.

Edit: And Chicago as well.

After Starlight Express, Cats was my second ever musical and I hugely enjoyed it back then (must've been in the early to mid nineties). When I saw the German tour 3 (?) years ago, not so much.

So the cast has been announced for the Broadway revival, with the exception of Grizabella. Nicole Scherzinger has just been confirmed to return to The X Factor this year, which usually is a commitment which lasts up until Christmas, so I presume that rules her out?!

That would be a shame for her not to do it. She was incredible in the role and truly re-invented it. It is still one of my favourite performances I have ever seen. I would love for her to get the chance to play the role once more and possibly nab a Tony Nomination along the way.

That's one of my favourite things about this forum too. I love hearing different views on performances both as a whole and from individual performers.

she may have sung it beautifully, but the make-up was way too glamourous for the character. When they talk about her as the glamour cat, that is somewhat ironic, and talking of days gone by.

I wish I had seen Jane as Grizabella. Nicole was my first ever experience of Grizabella (other than the film and I know it will be an unpopular opinon, I preferred Nicole to Elaine!) as I was too young to see the original. But I would of been interested to see an older Grizabella live to see how they differ in terms of age and performance. But as I say, I loved Nicole and what she did to the role. Totally deserved that Olivier nom (I wanted her to win too!).

I agree about the make-up choices, I prefer the new design of the costume however!

Really? She was definitely having an off-night when I saw her haha, she couldn't even hit the money note! That said, she was incredible when she returned to Wicked when I saw her. She has Murder Ballad in the Autumn so she has plenty to do.

I don't think it was her fault that the make up was like that. Interesting design choice, and Delta Goodrem, Bevvers Night were all made up similarly in this latest production. Even Jane Macdonald.
