So... I didn't hate this.
What is an absolutely ridiculous, nonsensical, dated-looking show is somewhat saved by some extremely strong individual performances (and no, Ben Elton is not one of them).
1/5 for the book, 5/5 for the performances. 3/5
What the rest of the merch-laden audience was finding so funny I'm not sure, but many thought it hilarious throughout...

I went to see this last night and it is likely one of the worst shows I have ever seen. The script was dire! Choreography terrible! Acting... interesting. The only good thing about this production was the cast's voices (minus Ben Elton who should never grace a stage again quite frankly) I would never leave a production during an interval but I came very, very close to doing so last night. Dreadful! 1*

I saw this last week. As a big fan of the original production and I quite enjoyed the last tour when I saw it in Stoke, I had high hopes for the Coliseum production but I was so disappointed. The only saving grace for me was Jenny o’ Leary as the Killer Queen! The sound was terrible and I was in front row but she was glorious! I do prefer her silver tour wig compared to the mop they have given her to wear on her head rn. Lee Mead just looked crazy, wide eyes all the time, it didn’t help me like his Khashoggi or find him funny! The changing of script with Ben Elton’s monologues was horrendous. He really stopped the show with those monologues, it was so monotonous and boring as he basically tries to explain the premise of the show to the audience so we all “get it”. The original production had its faults but I could accept that. This new production just left me cold, and bored!

Going to see this again on the last show on Sunday. I really liked this version, much closer to the original version. Would have loved it far more if it didn't have Ben Elton in it and trying to make it meta by including references to the show in the show, but it felt much better than some of the touring versions. Would love this version to tour in the future.

Saw this today and well...did the budget not stretch to a new graphic designer?

Saw this today and well...did the budget not stretch to a new graphic designer? I agree, re-using the original graphics didn't always work for me.

Watched this with my daughter on the Sunday matinee a couple of weeks ago. We were sat in the Dress circle on the left side in the 2 seats together. Really liked the seats, nobody sat next to us or passing us!
We took a trip to London specially as DD had performed this musical with her school in Spring and really wanted to watch the professional version. This meant that we were well aware of the slightly crazy story of the musical already! It was very similar to the school version but with more swearing!
We really enjoyed the show, obviously great music sang brilliantly in the main by all of the cast. Adrian Hansel as Brit and Christine Allado as Meat were great and had fab chemistry as did Ian Mcintosh and Elena Skye as Galileo and Scaramouche. I did feel Ben Elton went on a bit at times which slowed the pace down. The Coliseum did seem a bit on a lean wherever we sat or walked! but another lovely London theatre that we've been to visit.

How, I hate this venue and its pricing. Only a 5 star production of an excellent show will make me go back!

I honestly wouldn't waste your time watching this dreadful piece of theatre. So many other shows to see for a much better and fulfilling night out!

Takeaways: The band were outstanding. The two leads were engaging, great voices. We enjoyed their performances. We had Jenny Leary as Killer Queen, powerhouse voice, not a strong enough actress to be a supervillain. Ben Elton went quite the other way and was practically chewing the scenery. Lee Mead was great fun, extracting all the comedy from Khashoggi. From the front row we could see Christina Allado as Meat was dialling it in, you could literally see her blocking her moves in her eyes. I’m not sure she’s a dancer. It felt a little bit panto to me since I saw the original, Broad acting wise but definitely not set wise . The set was Poundland cheap. Killer Queen’s chair especially deserves to be chopped up and ritually burnt. Special mention must go to the wigs. I know it’s the end of the run, but they were beyond distracting in their awfulness. Matted, ill fitting. Seen and bought better wigs on Amazon Oh and Ben, the joke of pronouncing television tee-lee-vy-z-own that was repeated over and over just doesn’t work when there’s literally a song called One Vision in the show. And they pronounce it correctly. 😂

Kerry Ellis has just posted a competition on her official Facebook and Instagram pages where one of the prizes is tickets to the press night of We Will Rock You. Has anyone heard anything about the show coming back or is it just an old prize that’s not been updated?

Kerry Ellis has just posted a competition on her official Facebook and Instagram pages where one of the prizes is tickets to the press night of We Will Rock You. Has anyone heard anything about the show coming back or is it just an old prize that’s not been updated? I think it must be text from an old competition that hasn't been fully updated for the latest draw. The draw website has a ticker of the prizes which does not include WWRY but does include tickets/M&G with stars of Mamma Mia which isn't mentioned in the blurb on her socials: kerryellisprizedraw.com/
