I saw the matinee on Saturday and I really enjoyed it! A really strong cast that will get even better over time as they settle into the show. As some have said already, Carl Man is a brilliant standout Fiyero. Very charismatic and full of the swagger. Donna Berlin as Morrible was also brilliant to watch. As aingidh has said, I too loved her subtle huffs/sneers during her stage time (especially in Thank Goodness"). She's one of the best Morribles I have seen and really nailed the villain role. I actually really liked Sarah's Glinda, although I can definitely tell she will grow more into the role as time goes on. Her "Thank Goodness" was brilliant, probably one of the best I have seen. Casey was a great Elphaba - her expressions were always on point and there were no sign of nerves considering this was her debut. There were a few slip ups/things that didn't go to plan that we picked up on. Chistery's wing got stuck on the back of the Wizard's mask at the end of "Wonderful"'s scene change so a crew member had to rush out and unhook him. Casey and Sarah appeared to miss their cue at the start of "One Short Day" - not sure if this was as a result of costume changes or something else but they recovered well. The bottom of the lion cub's cage fell open when Carl lifted it off of the table so when he was racing across the stage with it, it flapped around like mad, which everyone found funny. Sarah's necklace flew off during her entrance down the stairs at the start before "For Good" - again, she found a subtle moment to pick it up and put it back on. All in all, I'm glad I got the chance to catch it and think it'll have a fantastic year run on tour.

Russell Dickson made his Fiyero debut at the matinee performance today, and was also on for the evening show (13th December, 2023).
Glad to see that the cast are taking breaks when needed to ensure they're performing at their best!

From speaking to someone in the Playhouse, the covers' shows (at least in previews) were scheduled so that they are ready to go on from the get-go. Maddison Firth has also had her Elphaba cover run so a debut from her may be sooner than we think.

Big credit to the stage and production management of this production for recognising this. (I think the money and time helped!).

Loved her in Eugenius & she made for a very competent Chandler.

I really want to see the show on tour at some point. My first 4 times seeing it was on the 2013-2015 tour and have seen it in London multiple times since. Ive seen all the current London Elphabas as its easy enough to make your way to the AV once its been announced who's on with west end understudies but its going to be a lot harder on tour, Not exactly like I can casually stroll down to euston make my way to see Casey in Edinburgh at 6:43 on a Thursday night.

Saw the matinee this afternoon, been quite a while since I've last seen any production of Wicked. I've always felt that there's more interesting things to see in London while down south, and I have seen it twice before. But decided that a tour was a great excuse to go back to it!
I was really impressed by the touring cast - both leads (Sarah and Laura) had great chemistry, Carl was a great Fiyero, and I had a great time.

Sarah O'Connor's voice is very weak for Glinda. I agree. She is really not up to the role. Probably the weakest I've ever seen/heard.

Went back this afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to catch Casey as Elphaba. Given she has only had a few shows so far, she was absolutely incredible. Her Elphaba really goes on a journey, starting off very quiet/sensitive then becoming very fierce and witchy as the show progresses.
Vocally she was very solid, she has such a rich and pleasing tone to her voice that means she really soars in the big numbers. If there was any Elphaba I'd say she reminded me of it'd be Rebecca Gilliland/Natalie Andreou.
The tour is in very good hands with its witches!

Yes I saw this earlier in the week and was very impressed. A well acted and sung production that sparkles much more than in London. Particularly enjoyed Laura Pick's Elphaba and Carl Man's Fiyero - great chemistry.
Definitely worth checking out if it’s coming to your local theatre.
