Highlights recording of this released, not sure if this was already posted and I'm just late to the party. Where can we listen to it? I've got Apple music but can't find it there. I saw it on Spotify, not sure where else it is

Yikes…looks like Hex and Trouble in Mind are returning on January. They have shortened the run of Manor and NT will just let it finish by 23 December (from the original New Year final run). The Ocean at the End of the Lane will still go on. www.nationaltheatre.org.uk/blog/cancelled-performances-17-december-2021Any idea what the future holds on Hex? Apparently RuNo will still direct the comeback of Small Island, due to open on February. (I really wish they kept an archive recording of The Normal Heart. Among the NT’s recent roster, this is their most acclaimed production. Would be a great addition to NT at Home)

Excellent. Thanks for that. My booking was cancelled on Thursday so this might be the nearest I get to seeing/hearing it.

Listening to this now, I'm not sure what I make of it. I do really like 'Probly'. It's not as bad as I'd expected but... it's a bit manic and odd so far (and I don't think in a good way).

It is odd they have cancelled the NTlive as it was a long way off so still plenty of time to get the show open and fully slick before filming?

They probably wanted to pull the plug on the live screening before lots of cinemas have sold lots of tickets. NT Live would be in breach of contract and cinemas might want some compensation for all the admin involved in doing the refunds if they have to cancel again close to time. Until they can be sure it's going ahead, I can see this might have been the least costly option. They can always show it not-live later.

It was never going to be live, the date was in March so it was always going to be recorded. I guess with the run ending end of Jan, it's not enough time as they'll probably have to rerehearse (now with a full cast) and just generally keep the show going. That's a lot to ask in 4 weeks and record the show too...

The sad thing is that even without the various problems it would probably still be mess. Craig feels miscast, the Norris lyrics are so bad and it just isn't sure of itself. It looks great at times but as much as I admire the NT for being experimental at this time but for the sake of their finances they should have just shoved on War Horse or Curious Incident... again.
I am not surprised the NT Live has been cancelled. I am not sure who the audience for this is now, let alone in March and if it comes back in any form I will be amazed. I am not sure this is worth anyone's time.

Very cocksure to plan a revival before even opening Well, its not opening in Jan now! All the forthcoming shows in Jan are previews. Nov is the opening RuNo should just focus on Small Island in that case. Wait, it’s so weird they haven’t announced a new cast for the show, and apparently it’s heading for previews on February. Usually they announce the full cast list a month/months before the rehearsals. Though I think Small Island is best to be timed for UK Black History Month, which is on October (the US Black History Month is on February). Unless the KST-headlined Greek play is finally happening… If all else fails, they should use the Olivier theatre for the new season of Life in Stages season 2, or even the Laurence Olivier Awards this spring.

Thanks for the update all. We had tickets for a performance before Christmas which was cancelled. Good aisle seat at reasonable price. When I checked the performances in Jan to get a good aisle seat now I'd have to upgrade and pay nearly twice as much as all the decent stuff is gone. So I was contemplating asking for a refund. But if its now going to reopen in November gives me plenty of chance to get a good seat now as I doubt there will be a big rush to book.

Is it likely to be any better after 11 months of workshops? It sounds like a complete turkey. Sometimes it’s better just to quietly drop something and move on. Unless of course egos make that difficult.

Would the same have happened if Norris and his other half weren't the creators of the piece? I very much doubt it.
Is there no one left in the building who dares say no to Norris?

Unless they’re throwing out the book and the score and starting over, nothing can help this dumpster fire.

If it gets panned when they finally let the press see it, and having had the opportunity to make changes, it must surely cast doubt over his judgment. And you can bet that the people involved will be looking at unofficial feedback like this thread to see what people think of it. So hello! 👋

Won't a November return mean this is the show that immediately precedes Standing at the Sky's Edge? That is 'ambitious' scheduling!
