Saw Big Shark this evening, it is such a ‘wow’ film I think it might take a while to put my thoughts into words but Tommy Wiseau showed that The Room wasn’t a one off when it came to putting together a truly sh*te film.

The Nun II Deliciously bad plot, but the cinematography and imagery are exquisite. There are genuinely hair-raising scares, and it's great fun. Part Da Vinci Code, part Exorcist. I don’t regret having seen it but I won’t rush to watch it again. Spoiler alert: close up, The Nun’s not scary and that’s where it fails. |

I do hope this sees the light of day, as the trailer shows great promise as a possible contender for this thread: ravenor.agency/portfolio/mr-calamari/It's written and directed by Lembit Opik, the former leader of the Lib Dems in Wales. Latterly, he seems to have gone all climate-change denying and Reform-UK-Limited supporting, so quite a departure. Could Mr Calamari be 2024's Black Bird? |

‘A Family Affair’ - ghastly Netflix rom com in which wide eyed, perma-surprised Nicole Kidman gets off with her daughters asshole film star boss with hillllarioussss consequences. I would recommend actively avoiding this 90 minutes of utter dross.

Con Air, directed by a Brit who I firmly believe was laughing his arse off at the Hollywood, mega block busters of the day.
I find it hilarious for all it’s cheesy tropes to the ad absurdism ending of a boss fight with Nick Cage and John Malkovich in a Las Vegas casino. Add in Steve Buschemi as a psychopath playing tea party with a little girl and philosophising and it’s my perfect guilty pleasure.

kallyloo Con Air holds a special place in my heart, although I have never seen it. I think it was unusual for John Malokovich to be in such a mainstream movie. When it came out my then boyfriend, now husband, was approached on various occasions to ask if he was John Malkovich! While there was, and is, a bit of a resemblance, I don't know why anyone thought JM would be wandering around Manchester doing his shopping!
